Ultrafiltration Systems

Water ultrafiltration (UF) is a membrane filtration process which uses water pressure to push water through its semi-permeable membrane. Suspended particles and materials of high molecular weight are unable to pass through the 0.02 micron UF ultrafiltration membrane, allowing only fresh clean water and dissolved minerals to pass through. The UF membrane reduces water contaminants such as waterborne microorganisms and harmful macromolecular organic chemicals.

Previously, ultrafiltration was only used in hospitals and large municipal applications. Now it is available as an undersink drinking water system. Ultrafiltration water treatment systems which use an ultrafiltration membrane, are an ideal low cost alternative to reverse osmosis technology. By using a hollow fiber membrane, undersink UF drinking water systems are able to filter  suspended particles and other potential water contaminates down to 0.02 microns. That is  approximately 5000 times smaller than a human hair!

The advantages of Ultrafiltration systems are:

  • Operates at low pressure

  • Removes bacteria and viruses

  • Keeps essential minerals

  • Does not generate waste water

  • Does not remove TDS

In Hydragcom we carry a wide range of Ultrafiltration water systems for domestic and commercial applications!
